I'm a German tutor who is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have my bachelor's degree from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany and my masters degree in language studies / teaching English as a second language from Indiana State University. I'm currently teaching at Indiana State University part-time, where I instruct German and English as a second language courses. I teach all levels of the German language as well as some English as a second language writing courses. As a teacher of foreign languages, my goal with new students is to always first get them excited about the possibilities of learning and using a new language. That's why I try to instill the fun part of learning German in all of my beginning level students. I spent a lot of time growing up living in the French-speaking portion of Switzerland, so I know some French and some Spanish as well. I love learning new languages, and I'm always searching for ways to improve my language skills. I believe that everyone can learn a foreign language with the right guidance. Outside of the classroom I love to travel, discover new music, read books, and play sports. I hope I can use what I've spent my life developing to help you truly master your first (or second) foreign language.

Hobbies
In my free time, I like to travel, be it overseas or just taking a quick trip to Bloomington or any of the other cities in close proximity. I love to discover new music, magazines (all languages!) and books and have been on sports teams all my life. Before college I rode horses for as long as I can think and ran track and cross-country. Lately I have been keeping active and balanced doing Crossfit. I've never tried yoga, but really want to; it is the very next item on the to-do list.
